205 Yunnan medics are back home from Wuhan

205 Yunnan medical workers fly back to Kunming from Wuhan, Hubei province on March 18 as the COVID-19 outbreak has subdued in the hard-hit province.


After the outbreak of the epidemic in China, a total of 1,156 Yunnan medics were sent to Hubei to join the battle against COVID-19 in ten batches. Those who are back today are mainly from the second and fourth batch.


“We fought shoulder to shoulder to win the battle, and harvested lifelong friendship,” said Cui Pengyu, team leader of the second batch of Yunnan medics assisting Hubei. “It’s our responsibility to stand with the Wuhan citizens, to let solidarity be the antidote to our shared threat,” he said.


“Our team members fought bravely and devotedly against time to save the lives of infected at the temporary hospital built in the Hanyang Sports School, Wuhan. All of our patients had been cured and discharged,” said Zhang Liping, team leader of the fourth batch of Yunnan medics assisting Hubei, adding that she will never forget what has happened in Wuhan.


During their stay in Wuhan, the second and fourth batch of Yunnan medics cured 250 COVID-19 patients.
