Lapwings appear in SW Yunnan in droves
Yunnan Gateway 2020-03-04 11:06:26

Droves of grey-headed lapwings appeared in the pastoral county of Changning in southwest Yunnan’s Baoshan City, breaking the spring silence with their chirms and agile flights.

The grey-headed lapwing is included in "Red List of Endangered Species of IUCN", rarely seen in recent years. And it is under state protection in China for its economic and scientific value.

As the eco-environment improves, Changning has seen an increasing number of migratory birds coming and going.
