Maozhu, a giant panda that has lived in the Yunnan Wildlife Park for four years, had its 6th birthday party on July 26, an occasion marking its maturity. The panda was brought to Kunming from Chengdu, Sichuan province in 2016.

The birthday cake for Maozhu was made of Hami melon, watermelon and bamboo shoots, all popular panda foods specially prepared by staff members at the park. The panda enjoyed the gift a lot, regardless of visitors in the park.

The birthday party was also joined by 50 panda fans, for whom the park staff members prepared another birthday cake. “Since Maozhu first came to Yunnan, I have visited the panda frequently,” said Ms. Cai, who wants to make her daughter know about the giant panda the harmony between man and nature.

The event was broadcast live on the Tiktok app, where information about the Yunnan panda and the park facilities were briefed to global audience.
